CHERY PARTNERS WITH DEEPSEEK TO REDEFINE AI INTERACTION ECOSYSTEM FORAIMOGA ROBOTS

February 17, 2025

WUHU, 14 FEBRUARY: Chery Aimoga Robotics’ research and development team has formed a technical partnership with DeepSeek to leverage their advanced AI models, aiming to enhance the voice interaction capabilities of Aimoga robots.

The collaboration marks another significant milestone in Chery’s journey of intelligent innovation, building on the success of the Lion intelligent cockpit system – Lion AI Large Model.

It highlights Chery’s foresight and swift execution in embracing AI advancements, reflecting the company’s 15-year strategic investment in AI technology.

As global tech giants vie for AI computing dominance, the Chery Aimoga robotics team recognises DeepSeek’s utilisation of NVIDIA H800 chips, providing complete transparency in model weights and training logs under the MIT open-source protocol. This cost-effective and open approach aligns perfectly with Chery’s research and development philosophy:’technology for the benefit of all.’

Chery Aimoga robots have integrated DeepSeek’s V2, V3, and R1 open-source models into their robot cloud platform, powering the interaction systems for Chery store marketing robots.

Real-world trials of Chery’s robot hardware are set to begins soon, moving beyond simulations and controlled environments to assess performance, functionality, and reliability in real-world conditions.

The Chery Aimoga research and development team plans to strengthen its collaboration with DeepSeek and other leading intelligent enterprises across various domains, continuously pushing the boundaries of robotic applications and unlocking new possibilities for innovation.

Chery’s venture into AI began in 2010, strategically building an intelligent interconnected technology base in collaboration with industry leaders such as Baidu and iFlytek. The 2018 launch of CheryLion marked its full entry into the AI domain.

In 2020, Chery initiated a dedicated research and development programme for humanoid robots, culminating in the global debut of its robot brand Aimoga and its self-developed robots and robotic pets in 2023.

In 2024, Chery announced a mass production plan for Aimoga robots, with an investment of RMB100 million (RM60 million). Over the past 15 years, Chery has meticulously progressed from research and development to mass production and deployment, solidifying its position as an AI innovator.

The collaboration between Chery Robotics and DeepSeek signifies a breakthrough in voice interaction technology and underscores Chery’s strategic vision for the AI era: fostering an open ecosystem and pushing application boundaries through scenario-driven innovation. This strategic focus has contributed to Chery’s remarkable achievement of leading China’s automotive export market for 22 consecutive years.

Last year, Chery Group achieved record-breaking annual sales of 2,603,916 vehicles, a 38.4% year-on-year increase, with exports reaching 1,144,588 units, up 21.4% from 2023.

Chery’s products are now sold in over 80 countries and regions worldwide, with a strong presence in more than ten European markets, making it one of the most popular Chinese automotive brands globally.

Chery plans to begin selling humanoid robots in its overseas markets in the first half of 2025, initially focusing on car sales assistance.

Looking ahead, Chery aims to integrate the development of the Internet and automotive intelligence to create an intelligent mobility ecosystem centered on human-robot-vehicle collaboration. This vision aligns with its long-term goal of evolving into a home-based intelligent terminal, further cementing its role as a pioneer in the AI-driven future.lic to embrace a healthier and more active lifestyle,” said Michael Chew.
