SHAH ALAM, 21 JANUARY – Chery Malaysia proudly celebrated Malaysia’s Paralympians with a heartfelt celebration honouring their achievements and contributions to sports and Inclusivity.
Held at Chery’s showroom in Glenmarie, Selangor the event also marked the delivery of Chery vehicles to Paralympians who had purchased them at an exclusive discount, reflecting Chery’s commitment to supporting and empowering these extraordinary athletes.
The ceremony brought together the athletes, their families, officials from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Paralympic Council of Malaysia as well as Chery representatives for a day of recognition and celebration.
“Our Paralympians exemplify the strength and resilience that inspire us all. At Chery, we are honoured to stand beside them in their journey, celebrating their victories and supporting their Aspirations.
“We are delighted to host this exclusive delivery of Chery vehicles to Liek Hou and Ziyad of these who had chosen the OMODA E5 and OMODA 5 as their preferred vehicle,” said Michael Chew, Vice President of Chery Malaysia at the ceremony witnessed by YB Hannah Yeoh, Minister of Youth and Sports.
In a special initiative last year, Chery offered Paris 2024 Olympians and Paralympians with an exclusive discount on Chery vehicle purchases, enabling them to experience Chery’s cutting-edge technology and commitment to sustainable mobility.
Gold medallists were eligible for a 50% discount on Chery’s SUVs; the TIGGO 8 PRO, OMODA 5, and the OMODA E5.
Silver medallists and athletes who had reached the semifinals and finals received a 30% discount. Additionally, all athletes who qualified to compete in the 2024 Olympics and Paralympics enjoyed a 15% discount for the same range of Chery vehicles.
During the ceremony, Chery delivered the OMODA 5 to Shot Put Silver Medallist, Muhammad Ziyad Zolkefli and the OMODA E5 to Badminton Gold Medallist, Cheah Liek Hou.
Powerlifting champion and Gold Medallist, Bonnie Bunyau Gustin who broke the world record has also booked the TIGGO 8 PRO but was not able to attend the ceremony.

In 2024, Chery organised a competitive running event; the Chery Eco Run in Putrajaya, supported various sporting events from a friendly badminton tournament for members of the media, the Borneo marathon, GFNY Kuala Lumpur cycling event to conducting a corporate social responsibility project with the Johor Southern Tigers, JDT football club.
This year, Chery will be working closely with the Malaysian Youth Council to continue a stronger involvement in sports among young adults in the country through a series of activities and projects.
