Passing on Love and Responsibility, Chery Implements Global Public Welfare

This year marks Chery’s 21st year of implementing its global strategy. While expanding rapidly and developing continuously in the global market, Chery has actively fulfilled its social responsibilities and implements global public welfare initiatives.

At the beginning of January, Chery delivered more than 30,000 bottles of drinking water to the typhoon-stricken areas in Visayas and Mindanao (Vis-Min) in the Philippines to help hundreds of families affected by typhoon Odette and alleviate the drinking water needs of the affected people. After the typhoon caused serious damage to several areas in the southern Philippines, Chery quickly took action to open a rescue hotline to ensure swift service. Furthermore, Chery also provided maintenance support to the affected vehicles of Chery owners and helped them cope with the difficult post-disaster reconstruction life.

From the end of 2021 to the beginning of 2022, Chery, together with Shop of Joys, a local Russian public welfare organization, launched a donation activity of used clothes with the theme of “Give Good”. Chery supported this donation activity by installing recycling boxes for used clothes in Moscow to help those who were struggling, inviting people who care about social issues to be ambassadors of the “Give Good” project, and providing clothes with Chery LOGO to advertise “Give Good”. The brand director of Chery Russia said: “Every year we buy new items, but not everyone reuses items that are not important. On the one hand, we advocate rational consumption, and on the other hand, we give old articles the opportunity to be reused and make people happy again.”

Furthermore, in October 2021, Chery and Kuwaiti partner Alghanim, together with the public welfare organization Sidra Association, and many well-known local brands, held a series of public welfare activities focusing on women’s health. In Algeria, in order to support the local people in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, Chery donated 20 medical oxygen generators to the Algerian Red Crescent Society for the treatment of COVID-19 patients. In America, Chery presented sneakers and daily necessities to the children in poverty-stricken areas to convey Chery’s love and care.

In the face of major disasters, Chery has always been on the front line of support. When disasters such as the 2021 summer flood in Henan, China, the 2017 Peru floods, the 2016 Ecuador earthquake, and the 2012 Chile earthquake occurred, Chery donated relief funds and materials to the disaster stricken areas immediately.

In the future, Chery will continue to actively implement social welfare initiatives, fulfill their responsibility as a global corporate citizen, actively seek the convergence point between enterprise development and social development in the fields of social employment, push for ecological protection and charity, and realize the win-win harmony and common development with consumers, employees, partners and all relevant stakeholders in society so as to bring outstanding products and services to global users while promoting Chery’s global humanistic care.
